About Oak Lawn, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Oak Lawn is a Chicago, Illinois suburb located in Cook County. As of 2010, the population of this village was approximately 56,700. The community was officially incorporated in 1909, and a major population boom occurred after WWII when veterans returned home to take advantage of their G.I. Bill. Since 2002, the downtown area has been the target of a major redevelopment project, and the Metra train station was expanded in order to provide commuters with easier access to their jobs in Chicago.

Oak Lawn is known for its expansive parks system. The village has 22 parks that total more than 300 acres of space. Activities include walking paths, swimming pools, indoor ice arenas, playgrounds, baseball fields, and other sporting and athletic facilities.

Other attractions are also located in the Oak Lawn area. The Oak Lawn Spartan Athletic Complex is a popular destination for sports fans, and Arena Lanes is a good location for a night out with friends or even a child’s birthday party. Families with young children may enjoy a day exploring at The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn, while adults who might prefer a relaxing afternoon on the golf course can book a tee time with Stoney Creek Golf Complex.

Oak Lawn is a great place to enjoy outdoor recreation during the spring, as the weather becomes mild with low humidity. While residents may enjoy keeping the windows of their homes open during these months, they lead to a very humid and hot summer. Temperatures frequently exceed 90 degrees, so residents rely on their home cooling system to keep their house or apartment comfortable. On the other hand, winters are snowy and cold, and since temperatures are usually below the freezing point in January, an efficient heat pump or furnace is a definite necessity to keep residents safe.
