About Crete, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Will County, Illinois, Crete is a Northeast Illinois village with a population of approximately 7,400 residents. This community was originally founded in 1836 and was named Wood’s Corner after founder Willard Wood. Historically, Crete was an important stopping point for the Underground Railroad, and when a rail line was built through the community, it became a major commercial center for Will County. More recently, it has become a primarily residential area while preserving its historical center. The community is served by the Crete Monee Community Unit School District, and older students will attend Crete Monee High School.

Crete is a small community, but there are a few notable attractions located here. Balmoral Park is home to a variety of outdoor activities, and teens often enjoy spending a weekend at Badlandz Paintball Field. Shopping is popular in the community, with unique specialty shops including The Finishing Touch, Gregg’s Guns and Ammo, and Antiques on Main. Residents looking for a day of relaxation may also prefer booking sessions at Mahalo Massage and Bodyworks or Jillian’s Day Spa.

The climate of Crete is part of a humid continental zone. The winter months are cold and snowy, with annual snowfall reaching about three feet of total accumulation. While lake effect snowfall isn’t typical on this side of Lake Michigan, blizzards and severe snowstorms aren’t uncommon. The harshest of extreme winter weather could make driving conditions hazardous and can keep residents homebound, and during these times it is especially important that residents have a high-functioning furnace system to rely on.

Summers in Crete tend to be moderate to hot in terms of thermostat readings, but high humidity levels can make the weather feel even warmer. Most residents utilize air conditioning units during these periods. Not only can an air conditioner keep interiors cool, but they can also be a Godsend for allergy-sufferers by improving indoor air quality.
