Orland Hills is a modestly sized community, but there are a few notable attractions to check out.  After a day of shopping, many visitors enjoy stopping for a drink at the Martini Blu Bar and Café or booking a service at 5 Star Cuts Salon, Bella Donna Salon, or Seva. Residents, especially children, often enjoy taking a class at Southwest School of Dance or the House of Music. Nearby Orland Park also has a variety of great attractions, including the Orland Square Mall and The Marcus Theaters Orland Park Cinema.

Residents and visitors of Orland Hills know that the climate can vary dramatically from season to season. During the summer, high humidity and thermostat readings can make it extremely uncomfortable at times. The summer months tend to be extremely sunny and rainy, and most residents will utilize their home air conditioning systems in order to stay comfortable throughout the season.

Spring and autumn months in Orland Hills tend to be quite pleasant. While both can be wet, temperatures are usually comfortable, allowing for residents to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. However, winter weather can be dangerous, with average highs only reaching the mid-20s. Moderate to heavy snowfall can also make it difficult to travel throughout the winter, and residents will rely on their home furnace system to stay comfortable regardless of what the weather throws at them during this season.
