About Evergreen Park, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Cook County, Illinois, Evergreen Park is a village with a population of roughly 20,000 people. The village was incorporated in 1893, and it consists of only four square miles of total area that is located 17 miles southwest of the Chicago Loop. Evergreen Park is also surrounded by Chicago on its east, south, and north ends, and the community is often referred to as “Village of the Churches” due to the 13 religious congregations located in and around it. Children in Evergreen Park attend one of four elementary schools, but there is only one public high school: Evergreen Park Community High School.

Evergreen Park is home to several points of interest that might intrigue area residents or visitors. The Evergreen Park Candlelight Theater hosts a variety of unique theatrical performances throughout the year. The community runs several different parks that provide great spaces for outdoor recreation, including Duffy Park, Yukich Field, and Cowboy Park.

Despite the limited attractions in this community, Evergreen Park’s convenient location near Chicago put a wealth of entertainment opportunities only a short Metra ride away. A tour via Chicago Line Cruises can show off the architectural wonders of this amazing city. There are several fascinating museums located here, including the Museum of Science and Industry, the Oriental Institute Museum, and The Field Museum. The Chicago Children’s Museum and Shedd Aquarium even provide entertainment for the kids.

When living in or traveling to Evergreen Park, it is important to be prepared for the weather extremes experienced in this village. Summers can be dangerous with high temperatures and humidity levels, especially for children and the elderly, as these groups are often most susceptible to heat-related illnesses. Severe weather is possible in the summer as well as the winter, as snow storms often frequent the area during the colder months. In order to stay safe in the community, it is important for residents to ensure that they have a plan for both cooling and heating their homes depending on the weather.
